A Personal Note from Pastor's Pen - Hidden Things

All of us are impressed by things we see. What our eyes see play a big part in who we are as individuals. In 2022, people by the millions were flooding the US, spending large amounts of money to travel to Wyoming, Oregon, Idaho, and Nebraska to see the solar ellipse. You may have even bought special glasses so that you could look at the sun during that special moment. This year, one night at the Sleep Inn in Greenfield will cost a  person $250 during the Eclipse. Just so they can see it. This earth, God’s creation, offers many things to see that impress us. We make big decisions based upon what we see. The house you live in was attractive to you, or at least the cost was attractive! The meal you will chose today from the restaurant will be something that is attractive to you. The wife you chose to marry was attractive to you! Ladies, the husband you choose to marry was… well, you get the point. Our eyes are important to so many decisions in life, but what about the things we cannot see. Things that are very real, but that are never viewed by our natural eye. Things we may hardly ever consider, simply because we never lay our eyes upon them. First off, we note that the bible tells us that we have an unseen enemy. Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Every day we wrestle against spiritual warfare that doesn’t fight fair! Even as you leave this place, the Devil is doing everything in his power to orchestrate chaos in your life! He has a plan to wreck your marriage. He has a plan to cripple your influence and to ruin your testimony for Jesus Christ. And he will send people possessed to do it. But the Lord wants us to understand that we also have an Unseen Power. Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Although we have a very real enemy, we have a very real power to wield against Him. A power so real that it accesses the hand of God in our life, and that is faith. Please take to heart the words Jesus said to a struggling father whose son was fighting the battle of his life. Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. All things are to those who, by faith, not sight, believe in Jesus.
