A Personal Note from Pastor's Pen - He's Alive

There are certain calendar days that have a special meaning to specific groups of people. Days like Autism Awareness Day coming up on April 2nd. This is a day that you may be unaware of, but for millions of people and families worldwide, it commemorates somethings very special and brings hope. On a larger scale, as an American, one of our most cherished days on the calendar is July 4th, or what you may refer to as Independence Day. It is a day filled with festivities and fireworks in celebration of our liberty as a nation. It commemorates something deep and significant, and as an American, it doesn't get any better than that.. unless you are a Christian. For the Believer in Christ, there is one day each year that stands alone as our greatest day of celebration. And Today is that day, Easter or what many call Resurrection Sunday. For the Christian, there is no other day quite like Easter. It is the day that we, unlike any other religion around the world, celebrate the life and resurrection of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. No doubt, many may wonder how does the Resurrection of Christ bring significance in the 21st century? What benefit does it bring to me? Isn't it just another day on the calendar where we get together with family and friends? In reality, the resurrection of Christ isn't just something that changed the world two thousand years ago, the resurrection is something that changes lives today. You see, the resurrection of Christ isn't just an event that was powerful two thousand years ago. The resurrection of Jesus is the most powerful event of this day, because the resurrection isn't even an event, it is a person. Jesus told Martha in John 11:25 and said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: Is Jesus your Savior? Have our sins been forgiven? Have you established a relationship with God through His Son? There would be no greater day than this Resurrection Sunday to do just that!
